Embark on a 4-day trekking adventure through the UNESCO-listed Simien Mountains National Park — home to dramatic escarpments, high plateaus, and rare wildlife such as the Gelada monkey, Walia ibex, and Ethiopian wolf. Hike through stunning mountain scenery, visit traditional highland villages, and camp under the stars in one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural landscapes.
After breakfast in Gondar, drive to Debark (park headquarters) for registration and meet your local guide, scout, and cook. Continue by 4x4 to Sankaber, the starting point of your trek. Enjoy an easy acclimatization hike along the escarpment, spotting Gelada monkeys and taking in panoramic views of deep valleys.

Begin your full-day trek toward Geech Camp. The trail follows dramatic cliffs and high-altitude meadows, passing by the stunning Jinbar Waterfall, plunging into a deep gorge. Picnic lunch along the route before arriving at Geech Camp in the afternoon.

Today’s trek offers some of the most spectacular views in the park. Hike to Imet Gogo viewpoint (3,926 m) for breathtaking 360° views of the mountain peaks and valleys. Continue via Seha and Kedadit viewpoints, then descend to Chenek Camp, where Walia ibex are often seen.
Overnight: Camping at Chenek Camp
After breakfast, enjoy a short morning hike to spot wildlife before meeting your vehicle for the drive back to Gondar. En route, enjoy final views of the Simien escarpments and highland scenery. Arrive in Gondar in the late afternoon.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
